They were invited to play at Spot Productions for a live stream performance and made a last minute decision to play original music, instead of covers. There they were met with many respected musicians such as Ror Materials, Drew Palmer and Neeve Zarah, who gave them outstanding praise for their song writing and musical talents. One of which was Ben Robinson from the indie band Twisted Wheel, Ben has also worked with names such as Shotty Horror and was in the supporting act for Liam Gallagher’s latest tour. Ben was keen to get involved with lilac and they adopted him as their drummer and are now very good friends…

A few months on from this Lilac released their first single ‘Vibin’ which was met with much praise, with a couple plays from BBC Manchester and Indie Rocks Uk. Fast forward to August 2021 AHWL released their first EP along with a sold out show at the famous Manchester music venue Gulliver’s.

The success doesn’t stop there! April 2022 saw the release of the single ‘Be With you RN’ a liquid drum a bass inspired pop song which received multiple plays from the Dance Show on BBC Radio 1. This gained the band more exposure leading to be invited along to play at Beatherder Festival, Audio Farm Festival, HMV and play alongside names such as See Thru Hands and Blind mic…

So what’s in store for the future of Lilac may you ask? Lilac have just secured their own studio space and are working on new material which they are hoping to showcase in the spring of 2023.
